How to set up IPTV on Apple TV

Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K running tvOS.

Before you begin

Apple TV

Apple TV supports IPTV players published on the tvOS App Store. Sideloading is not possible on tvOS, so you install one of the players Apple has approved and enter your playlist details there.

  • You will need An IPTV player from the tvOS App Store.
  • Worth knowing The choice of players is smaller than on Android. Message us before you order if you want to know which ones we have tested.
  • Roughly fifteen minutes Most of which is the channel list and program guide loading for the first time.

You need an active subscription first. The steps below assume you already have the playlist details we send once an order is confirmed. If you do not have them yet, start with a plan.

Step by step

Setting up on Apple TV

  1. Open the App Store on your Apple TV Apple TV runs tvOS, and apps can only be installed from Apple’s own store. Sideloading is not possible, so the choice is whatever Apple has approved.
  2. Install an IPTV player Search for “IPTV player”. There are fewer options than on Android, and some are paid. Message us before you buy one and we will tell you which we have seen working well.
  3. Add your subscription Open the player and add a playlist using the details we sent. Several tvOS players let you enter these in a companion app or on a web page and then sync — worth using, because the Apple TV remote is not built for long addresses.
  4. Wait for the first load As on every device, the first load is the slow one. Leave it to finish, then restart the app.
  5. Watching from an iPhone or iPad instead If your player supports AirPlay, you can send the picture from an iPhone or iPad to the Apple TV. Not every player allows it, so check before relying on it as your main route.

Other devices

Setting up somewhere else as well?

The same subscription details work on every device. How many can play at once depends on your plan, so check with us first.

Smart TVs

Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, TCL and other connected sets.

Most modern smart TVs can install an IPTV player from their own app store. Once it is installed, you enter the playlist details we send you and the channel list loads on the TV itself — no extra box, no cables.

Amazon Fire TV & Firestick

Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV built into a television.

Fire TV devices are the route most of our customers take, because a stick turns almost any TV with an HDMI port into a streaming device. Players are installed from the Amazon Appstore, or sideloaded using Amazon’s own Downloader app.

Android TV & Google TV

Android TV boxes, Google TV sets and Android-powered projectors.

Android TV gives you the widest choice of player apps, and most of them support an electronic program guide and resume-where-you-stopped playback. Install from Google Play and sign in with the details we send.
