How to set up IPTV on Smart TVs

Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, TCL and other connected sets.

Before you begin

Smart TVs

Most modern smart TVs can install an IPTV player from their own app store. Once it is installed, you enter the playlist details we send you and the channel list loads on the TV itself — no extra box, no cables.

  • You will need A compatible IPTV player installed from your TV’s app store.
  • Worth knowing Older sets sometimes have a store that no longer receives updates. If yours does, a streaming stick is usually the simpler route.
  • Roughly fifteen minutes Most of which is the channel list and program guide loading for the first time.

You need an active subscription first. The steps below assume you already have the playlist details we send once an order is confirmed. If you do not have them yet, start with a plan.

Step by step

Setting up on Smart TVs

  1. Open your television’s app store Every brand names this differently — Samsung calls it Smart Hub, LG calls it Content Store. It is the screen your TV uses for installing apps.
  2. Search for an IPTV player Search for “IPTV” and install a player that accepts a playlist. Which ones are available varies by brand, by model year and by country, so message us if the results look thin and we will tell you what people with your set are using.
  3. Note the device key, if the player shows one Several TV players display a device key or MAC address and ask you to add your playlist through their website rather than on the TV itself. Write it down exactly — it is much easier to do this part on a computer.
  4. Enter your subscription details Either on the television or on the player’s website, depending on which route your player uses. Then reload the player on the TV and wait for the channel list to appear.
  5. If the store has nothing suitable Older sets often have an app store that no longer receives new apps. That is a limitation of the television, not of your subscription. An inexpensive streaming stick in a spare HDMI port solves it completely.

Other devices

Setting up somewhere else as well?

The same subscription details work on every device. How many can play at once depends on your plan, so check with us first.

Amazon Fire TV & Firestick

Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV built into a television.

Fire TV devices are the route most of our customers take, because a stick turns almost any TV with an HDMI port into a streaming device. Players are installed from the Amazon Appstore, or sideloaded using Amazon’s own Downloader app.

Android TV & Google TV

Android TV boxes, Google TV sets and Android-powered projectors.

Android TV gives you the widest choice of player apps, and most of them support an electronic program guide and resume-where-you-stopped playback. Install from Google Play and sign in with the details we send.

Apple TV

Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K running tvOS.

Apple TV supports IPTV players published on the tvOS App Store. Sideloading is not possible on tvOS, so you install one of the players Apple has approved and enter your playlist details there.
